Transalp 2009

More than 600 kilometers  and 22.000 meters of elevation gain, 1100 participants who challenge their own forces and those of the other athletes in 8 breathtaking stages from Bavaria to Lake Garda through Germany, Austria and Italy. This is the Jeantex Bike Transalp, the most difficult MTB competition taking place in Europe and that this year celebrates its 12^th edition. Also 2009 Andalo hosts the competition, and more precisely, on 24^th July, the day before the traditional finish in Riva del Garda; the participants, coming from Caldaro, will reach Andalo passing by Spormaggiore. On the following day, 25^th July 2009, the bikers will reach first of all Molveno, then Passo San Giovanni and the Mount Gazza; from this point they will go down to Margone, Ranzo, before arriving in Riva del Garda for the conclusive parade on the lake.

The Transalp is not only a MTB race, it is an event that involves and excites the whole village: the Transalp Camp will be hosted at the sports centre of Andalo and the most important European cycling trade marks will be showing and selling their products.
