Events

The Val Rendena district organises numerous events ranging from folk and traditional, to art and culture, to sport. A calendar of events packed with dates for the guests and the wild bikers who will not be able to avoid their appeal!

We list only major events: a myriad of smaller events and entertainment are organised locally all over the valley:

• Old Rendena: a representation of old crafts, customs and traditions of the people of Trentino This event takes place on the 15th of August in Bocenago.
• The Agricultural Festival (Festa dell'Agricultura): held in the picturesque lanes of Caderzone, they parade the best breeds of cattle, accompanied by wagons of hay and tools for processing milk. An opportunity to taste an endless amount of typical products, then at twilight, on the plain of Curio a great bonfire is set alight accompanied by the municipal band. This event takes place on 04 and 05th of August in Caderzone Terme.
• Rendena Cow Show: a traditional procession of brown Rendena heifers paraded through the streets of the village centre. This event occurs from 24th to 26 th of August in Pinzolo.
• Bike Week: a 24 hour Mountain Bike endurance race. Takes place around the end of August or the beginning of September passing through Cadezone, Strembo and Bocenago.(01-02 September)
• The Sounds of the Dolomites: a high altitude music festival, which during the summer brings artists from all over the world to perform in the most beautiful mountains of Trentino.
• The Macabre Dance: a traditional spectacle inspired by the ‘Danza Macabra' painting by Baschenis on the southern facade of the cemetery church of St.Virgilio in Pinzolo, re-enacted by the "Filò da la Val Rendena". (13th of August -Pinzolo)
• Barzavaglia: a medieval village inspired by the expedition of Charlemagne from Bergamo to Trentino, set up in the picturesque setting of the old glass factory in Carisolo, where you can admire the traditional works of bygone days. Followed by a medieval feast and entertainment.( 4th of August - Carisolo)
• Inter Official Summer Training Camp: from 5th to 15th of July the Inter Fc football club have their annual retreat in Pinzolo, enlivened by many great events.
• Stars on Ice: an international ice figure skating event in which both Italian and foreign champions participate with the Russian champion Evgeni Plushenko.(14th of August - Pinzolo)
